Mrs. C. Robinson, of Auckland, is visiting Timaru. Mrs. V. Fletcher, of Auckland, is at present visiting Timaru. Miss M. Orwin has returned to Timaru after a visit to Auckland. Mrs. Coaute Smith, of Vancouver, is visiting Auckland, and is staying at Glenalvon. Mrs. Herbert Ivirkcaldie and Miss Kirkcaldie left last evening on their return to Wellington from a visit to Auckland. Miss M. and Miss S. Mitchelson, of Armadale Road, Remuera, are leaving today by the Niagara on a visit to Sydney and Melbourne. Miss Ray Thompson, of Takapuna, who is on a visit to England and the Continent, is staying in London prior to her departure for Scotland and the Continent. Miss Jocelyn Yeo (better recognised, perhaps, as Miss Jocelvn Dixon), of Auckland, has a prominent part in Anton Dolin's Russian Ballet, which has been performing in Paris, Strasbourg and Brussels, states our London correspondent on May 19. Mrs. Dixon has been staying in Paris. Miss Catherine Wallace, of Auckland, has passed her L.R.A.M. examination at the Royal Academy of Music, and now in Vienna, studying under Severin Eisenberger. Mrs. Wallace is with her daughter. They will probably be returning to New Zealand in September, states our London correspondent. Mrs. Hugh Thomson, Miss Rona and Miss Ray Thomson, Mrs. James Hill, and Miss Kitty Horsley, all of Auckland, are recent arrivals in England, states our London correspondent on May 19. After a few days in London they left for a motor tour of Southern England. Later they will tour in Scotland. July and August will probably be spent on the Continent. Sir James and Lady Parr were among the guests at Mrs. L. S. Amery s weekly afternoon At Home this week, states our London correspondent, writing on May 19 Other New Zealanders present included: Mrs. H. E. Vaile and Miss Vaile, Sir C and Ladv Holdsworth, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Stephens, Mrs. Hope Lewis, Miss Barbara Williams, Mrs. Sydney Neill, Dr. W. E. Collins and Mrs. Collins Mrs. Richard Allen, Miss Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Shirtcliffe, Sir Thomas Mackenzie, Mr. Justice A.-L. Herdman and Mrs. Herdman. An enjoyable entertainment and dance was given in St. Michael s and All Angels Hall, Belmont, last evening. An effective decorative scheme had been carried out in the hall, and a programme consisting of a number of tableaux, songs and recitations was given in the first part of the entertainment, including selections by the Takapuna Band. Among those who contributed were: Miss Cave, Mrs. Sellars, Miss Lockwood, Miss I. Tucker, Mrs. Stretton, Mr.. Marks, Mr. Merton, Mr. B. Sellars, Mr. W. Sharp and Mr. S. Davies. The accompanist was Mrs. C. U. Blackwell. Supper was served by the ladies' committee, which included Mrs. A. Buckley, Mrs. Blackwell, Mrs. E. Rowe, Mrs. Merton, Mrs. W. Mills, Mrs. A. Austin and Mrs. McFadden. On Saturday evening, June 16, the committee of the All Saints' Choir Queen arranged an enjoyable dance, which was held in Point Erin Park kiosk. Despite the wet weather there was a large attendance. The committee comprised Mrs. Billington, who wore black georgette and crystal; Mrs. H. W. Manning, black georgette and panne velvet; Mrs. V, Usher, white georgette and diamante trimming; Mrs. C. F. Bennett, black and silver with bead trimming; Mrs. W. W. Averill, silver bodice and black draped skirt; Mrs. G. C. Eddowes, black georgette with moonlight trimming; Mrs. T. L. Harrison, white and shell pink georgette; Miss Adeane, black ring velvet; Miss ® en ~ nett, cyclamen crepe de chine and lace; Miss Cooke, flame velvet and silver tissue; Miss Coppins, scarlet ring velvet; Miss Scott, blue taffeta. Others present were: Mrs. J. Wilson, Mrs. J. O'Connor, Mrs. Shanly, Mrs. Pawson, Mrs. McCall, Mrs Ninnis, Misses Fair, D. Grant, Cowen, S. Be.ale, K. Wells, Manning, O'Halleran, Mackie, Steele, Hunter, More, Mackie, Dawson, Lyon, A. Gordon, H. Bell, Knox, Smytheman, Cornngham and Owen.
