THE TASMAN FLIGHT.
Sir, —In connection with the coming visit to New Zealand of Captain Kingsford Smith and his party, it seems they have been invited to land at Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. Why not Auckland ! Are we to be left out in the cold ? Is it the lack of suitable landing grounds ? Surely, if the Trentham racecourse is good enough for them to land on, Ellerslie, or one of the other Auckland courses, would be suitable, and I am sure that the racing club would grant the use of same. I hope, in the course of a few days or so, to see that some of Auckland's prominent citizens have cabled an invitation to Captain Smith to land at Auckland on arrival, or failing that, to fly up here from the South. I am sure that he will not want for a welcome. Living In* Hope.
