THE DAY AT ELLERSLIE.

TAILOR-MADES AND WRAPS. Almost spring-like was the weather yesterday, and at the races at Ellerslie there were people who found it much too hot to sit in the sunshine outside the stands. Furs and heavy wraps were more or less at a discount, and, instead, many tailored suits were to b8 seen, and frocks with light wraps over them. A great many ot the tailored suits were in tweeds in all colours, rose-beige, rose-mushroom and grey flecked with brown being the most popular. These "with their clean-cut lines were decidedly attractive. Among those who were present were Lady Jean Mcintosh, who wore a brown checked jumper suit and brown felt hat; Lady Nolan in a black self-striped tailored suit, fur wrap, and black hat; Mrs. Roy Wilson, navy blue w r ith a fur coat and black hat; Mrs. Dalgety (Christchurch), black suit, short seal coat and black hat with a silver ornament in the front; Mrs. Ludbrook, navy blue with a navy hat to match; Mrs. Colbeck, black suit with jumper in two shades of grey striped with gold, fur wrap, and hat to tone: Mrs. W. S. Spence, navy blue embroidered frock, fur wrap, and small red hat; Mrs. Vivian Riddiford, deep' cornflower-blue tailored suit, fur wrap and blue hat to match; Mrs. Worsp, almond-green jumper suit embroidered in green and mauve, small navy hat; Mrs. Hanna, black tailored suit and high-crowned black hat; Mrs. J. Tole, black ensemble, fur wrap and black hat. Mrs Shuttleworth was in a grey ensemble and grey felt hat to match; Mrs. Gordon Raid (Wellington), Chinese blue suit, musquash coat and black hat with ospreya; Mrs. H. Tonks, black tailored suit and hat to tone; Mrs. Mervyn Reid, fawn flecked tweed suit and rose felt hat; Miss Russell, navy blue, fur wrap and navy hat; Mrs. F.
