TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:— Cloudy and unsettled weather is indicated generally, with rain, in districts bordering on the west coast of both islands, and in southern areas. Northerly to north-westerly winds, moderate to strong. Seas moderate. The westerly disturbance centred south-westward of the Dominion is moving slowly eastward, and New Zealand conditions are likely to be affected shortly. Barometric pressure is relatively low in the South Island, and a general decrease in pressure is expected. Barometer, midnight, steady .. 30.15 in. Midnight, Tuesday .. .. 30.10 in. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —A feeble anticyclone is centred to the east of New Zealand, and there is a slight depression in the western Tasman Sea. Indications are lor northerly winds, moderate generally, but fresh to strong at times in Cook Strait. Seas rather rough in Cook Strait, but moderate elsewhere. Northerly winds in the eastern Tasman Sea, with yioderate seas. Weather cloudy and unsettled, with rain in most districts. Mild tompcratu res. RAINFALL RECORD.
