MAMAKU HILLS ROAD.

COMPLAINTS BY MOTORISTS. The Auckland Automobile Association yesterday received several complaints from members concerning the slow progress of the metalling on the Mamaku Hills. About three weeks ago the Public Works Department took over the road from the contractor, but so far there are no evidences that the highway is being treated as an emergency work. Prior to the termination oi ! the contract the Rotorua committee which recently raised £IOOO was so disappointed at the prospects for the winter that the Main Highways Board was asked to make a refund if there was no. change in policy.
