HARBOUR COLLISION.
COLLIER AND A SCOW. COURT RESERVES DECISION. Decision was reserved yesterday, at Ihe conclusion of the marine inquiry into the collision between the collier Hikurangi and the scow Havoc in tho Waitemata Harbour on tho night of April 2. The collision resulted in the overturning of tho scow. Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., presided, and with him, as assessors, were Captain T. Braidwood and Mr. S. Dalrymple. Mr. A. Moody, with Mr. George, appeared for Captain G. N. George, of the Hikurangi, Mr. R. MvYeagh for the master of the launch Orere, which was towing the Havoc from Rangitoto to Auckland, and its owners, the Auckland Harbour Board, Mr. F. Lowria for the owners of the Hikurangi, and Mr. Hubble for the Mitrinc Department. Further evidence was heard, and in the afternoon all counsel addressed the Court at length. Following a retirement Mr. Cutten announced early in .the evening that decision would be given to-day.
