PRESENTATIONS.

A large assembly of rail way men, carriers and business people tendered a farewell social on Monday evening to Mr. A. H. McKay, who, after three years as chief clerk at the Te Awamutu railway station, has been promoted to stationmaster at Hikuvangi, North Auckland. Mr. R. Laurie, in presenting the guest with two handsome pieces of furniture and a case of stainless cutlery, eulogised him as a most efficient, conscientious and courteous officer, who had gained wellmerited promotion. Mr. B. Geraghty, who for five years has been superintendent of the Opotiki Fire Brigade, is leaving for Waiuku. He was tendered a farewell -social by the fire brigade, the Mayor, Mr. G. S. Moody, presenting Mr. Geraghty with a suitcase on behalf of the brigade. i
