PETITION FOR REPRIEVE.
THE NEW LYNN MURDER. CONSIDERATION THIS WEEK. ' A petition asking for a reprieve for j Allan George Norgrove, sentenced to death on May 15 for the murder of his , sister-in-law at New Lynn, will be pre- ' Rented to the Governor-General to-morrow by Mr. A. Moody, counsel for the condemned man. The Governor-General-in-Council will consider the petition in Wellington on Thursday. Norgrove is to be examined by an independent mental specialist within the next few days and the report will be considered with the petition. Norgrovo has been confined in a room at the gaol with furnishings and comforts not permitted in the usual cells. In accordance with custom a warder is with him night and day.
