LIQUEFACTION OF COAL.
PRODUCTION OF PETROL. SUCCESS OF GERMAN METHOD. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received May 25, 10.5 p.m.) BEKLIN, May 25. It was announced at the annual meeting; of the German Dyestuffs Corporation that the experiments on the liquefaction of brown coal had exceeded the most sanguine expectations. By the end of the year 100,000 tons of petrol will have been produced, and it is expected that this total will be doubled in 1929. The corporation is now concentrating on tlio application of similar methods to hard coal.
