EGYPTIAN POLITICIANS.
SCENE IN PARLIAMENT. ASSAULT AND AN APOLOGY. (Received May 15, 8.25 p.m.) Times Cable. LONDON, Mav 15. The Cairo correspondent of the Times says the Prime Minister, Nahas Pasha, informed a Nationalist member of the Chamber of Deputies, Abdel Hamid Bey, that he had thanked the British High Commissioner, Lord Lloyd, for the British Government's friendly sentiments in connection with the interchanges of Notes regarding the ultimatum about the Assemblies Bill. Abdel, who is 7ft. in height, ascended the tribune and violently attacked the Cabinet,
Makram Bey, Minister of Communications, a diminutive man, heatedly interrupted. He thumped his desk until his sleeve-links burst. The excitement in the Chamber grew as Abdel jumped down and grabbed Makram. Ministers separated tho ill-matched disputants. Nahas Pasha then asked the members to deal with the incident. Ramadan Bey, a Nationalist, after impassioned speeches had been made, declared that each Cabinet had lost some of Egypt's rights. The sitting had to be suspended. After the adjournment Abdel apologised to Makram, who accepted the apology amid expressions of approval.
