INDUSTRIAL PEACE.
CONFERENCE IN AUSTRALIA. LABOUR NOT TO PARTICIPATE. SYDNEY, April 27. The All-Australian Council of Trades Unions has reaffirmed its decision to hold aloof from the Federal Government's Industrial Peace Conference. The council decided to convene a P'an-Pacific Conference in Australia next year. Delegates from China and Japan will be invited. Advice was received from Moscow that Mr. J. Garden had been elected to the executive of the Third (Communist) International, which the local Communists and Mr. Garden regard as a great honour. PROPOSAL ABANDONED. STATEMENT BY MR. BRUCE. (Received April 27, 11.35 p.m.) CANBERRA, April 27. The Prima Minister, Mr. Bruce, announces that he has abandoned the proposal to hold an industrial peace conference.
