In the House of Lords, the Lord Privy Seal, the Marquess of Salisbury, in replying to requests for information regarding British relations with the Egyptian Government, said there were no negotiations going on between Britain and Egypt. Since the recent rejection of the proposed treaty they had gone back to the situation existing before that treaty was put forward.
