EXTENSION OF ACTIVITIES. Important developments in the operations of Fuller-Havward Theatres, Ltd., in the Auckland suburban area were disclosed yesterday by the governing director, Mr. Henry Hayvrard. As part of the policy of suburban expansion embarked upon by the firm, it has purchased the picture interests of Mr. J. H. At Grey Lynn it is intended to erect a palatial theatre on the recently-acquired Anglican Church site, opposite the Great North Road. The theatre will have a seatiDg capacity of 1500, and the building will contain seven shops and also suites of offices. Takapuna is also to have a modern theatre and cabaret. The new developments will mean that Fuller-Hayward Theatres, Ltd., which already controls or has interests in 63 picture theatres throughout the Dominion, will operate a chain of 10 suburban theatres in Auckland having a total seating capacity for 10,000. They will comprise the Tudor Theatre, Remuera, the Strand Theatre, Onehunga, the Foresters' Hall, Onehunga, the Capitol, Dominion Road, the Edendale Theatre, Edendale. the Empire Theatre, Dominion Road, the Picture House, Grey Lynn the Victoria Theatre, Devonport, the Plaza Theatre, Takapuna, and the Foresters' Hall, Birkenhead. These theatres are in addition to the firm's three theatres in the city area, the Majestic, Strand, and Prince Edward, which between them have seating accommodation for 5000 persons.

CANTERBURY MARKETS. LITTLE CHANGE RECORDED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRIST CHURCH, Friday. There is little change fco record sinc« the mid-week in produce values. Wheat is quoted at 5s 7d to 5s 8d on trucks, with North Canterbury a penny more. Offerings are freer than recently, owing to the amount of threshing that has taken place during th 9 past few weeks. During the week there has been some inquiry in regard to the millers' offer of 5s lid a bushel, f.0.b., ioi next season's Tuscan wheat, with advances of 3d and 9d for Hunters and Pearl. There are no reports so far of contracts being signed up, and millers are not pushing the offer. Fowl wheat is quoted at 5s 7d to 5s 7£d, f.0.b., Lyttelton. There is no change in the value of oats, but A's are firm and very few aro offering. A Gartons can be bought at 3s lid, f.0.b., s.i., but this allows little margin for export. B's are worth 3s 6d, f.0.b., s.i., for coastal shipment. From 3s 3d to 3s 3£d on trucks, for A's, and 2s lid for B's is the average quotation, B's being a shade easier. There are few decent sample Duns about, and 3s 4d on trucks is available for quality stuff. There is no change in the small seed market. ' ■ Potatoes have recovered slightly from the position recorded last week-end. The Kurow took 6200 sacks north on Monday; the Wingatui sailed yesterday with a small cargo, and it is not expected that, the Waipiata, at the beginning of the week, will take a big cargo. This is allowing the market iin the North to steady a little. Values locally remain at £3 10s, on trucks, for prompt or May delivery. For May-June £4 17s 6d to £5 2s 6cl, f.0.b., s.i., is quoted, though little is doing at these figures. Onions are still "dead." Auckland hast not resumed buying, and forward sales are being delivered by the Waipiata. Values are £3 10s, on tracks.
