WOMEN'S CIVIC LEAGUE.

Mrg. J. E. Holmes presided at the second annual meeting of the Whangarei Women's Civic League. A report was submitted reviewing the various activities of the league and after its adoption it was decided to affiHate with the National Council of Women. Officers were elected as follows: —President, Mrs. J. E. Holmes: vice-presidents, Mrs. F. W. Reed and Mrs. Jas. Donaldson; secretary, Mrs. Darehill; treasurer, Mrs. A. E. Allan; committee, Mesdames Price, Wright, Ackhurst, Cutforth, Morrish, Staple, Woolley, Dawson and Armstrong.
