Mrs. Gilford, of Feilding, is a visitor to Auckland. Mrs. J. Linnell, her small son, and Miss Margaret Wilkie are staying at the Hotel Stonehurst. Mrs. J. S. Tuppen arrived in Auckland this week from Wellington, and is staying at Arundel. Mrs. W, Murray, of London, is on a visit to Auckland, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Lady Bell, of Calcutta, is a visitor to Auckland at present, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. Gordon Reid, of Wellington, is visiting Auckland, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Misfc Jacobson, of Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. J. E. B. Spicor, Oliver Road, Remuera. > • ' - ■ .■ - i. ■ ■ ...... 5 ;1 ■ Mrs. Hankins, of Wellington, arrived in Auckland yesterday to attend the marriage of her son. Mrs. John Price, of Auckland, left yesterday for Stratford, where she intends to take up her residence. Miss Bradney, of Sherwood Road, Mount Eden, returned by the Marama, after a six months' visit to Australia. Miss Jean Gordon, of Epsom, has left for Wellington, and is the guest of her sister, Mrs. A. J. Bamaby, of Hataitai. Mrs.. Hugh Akers, of Palmerston North, and Mrs. Oscar Monrad are visiting Auckland, arid are staying at Cargen. Mrs. Duncan McLean and Miss A. McLean, of Wellington, who are visiting Auckland are staying at the Hotel Stonehurst. Mrs. J. Melliag left last evening by the limited express for Wellington, where she will join the Remueva for London. Mrs. Melling expects to return to New Zealand early in the new year. Among the guests staying at the Hotel Stonehurst are the Misses Shakespear, of Te Whanga, Whangaroa, the Misses Matthews, Hamilton; Mrs. Alcott, Blenheim; Mrs. W. H. Jones, and Mrs, R. Henry, of Wellington. The Auckland branch of the Ex-service Women's Association held its Anzac dinner at the Grand Hotel last evening. There was a large attendance of members and Mrs. B. Cadoux presided. Blue and gold, the colours of the association, predominated in the decorations of the tables and yet- further colour was given by the service medals which were worn bv members, among them being the Royal Red Cross. Past experiences were recalled and the meeting of those who had not met in some cases for years added to tht> pleasure of the evening. Bowls of chrysanthemums and zinnias decorated the common room at the Auckland University College yesterday afternoon when the members of the Women's House Committee entertained the wives of the professors and lecturers at afternoon tea. Miss M. Ford, president of the Women's Association received tho guests, among whom were: Mrs. G. Fowlds, Mrs. Patterson, Mrs. Algie. Mrs, Fitt, Mrs. Thomas, Mrs, Jebson. Mrs. Mulgan, Mrs. Worley, Mrs. Lamb. Mrs. Shabe, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Mahon, Mrs. Dawson,- Mrs. Knir'bt, Mrs. Corhan. Mrs. Bartram. Miss D. Miller. Miss Bourne, Miss Johnstone. During the afternoon songs by Miss Z. Camuron and Miss J. Archibald and a pianoforte solo by Mis* A. Plummer were very much appreciated.
