PEACE IN INDUSTRY.
CONFERENCE AT WELLINGTON COMMENDATION BY CHURCH. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] WELLINGTON. Thursday. The spirit and purpose of the industrial conference convened by the Prime Minister and now in progress, was commended in the report of the sessional committee on social service submitted to the Anglican General Synod this morning. "The recent industrial conference," the report stated, "is a welcome sign of the growing disposition on all sides to seek for industrial peace; and your committee desires to call attention to this movement and to urge all Church people to carry out its ideals."
Intimation was given by Archdeacon Taylor, of Christchurch, of the following motion: "That this General Synod rejoices at the growing disposition to seek industrial peace ""through the coming together in conference of employers and employed, and especially at the holding of the recent industrial conferences in Wellington. - The synod urges Church people to study the report of this conference and to seek to impart into all industrial relationships the spirit and the ideals expressed by the conference."
