SEAMEN AND COOKS.
MARINE DISPUTE CONTINUES. STEAMERS STILL HELD UP. MELBOURNE, April 23. The chairman of the Huddart-Parker Company, Mr. W. Appleton, says the company failed to obtain crews for the Barwon and Yarra. It is anxious to recommission these vessels. In the cases of the Ulimaroa, the Zealandia and th© Corio he cannot say when the next call for crews will be made. Mr. Appleton savs he believes the steamer Goulburn will next be involved -with the marine cooks, who arc causing the hold-up, and are determined to refuse duty until their demands are conceded, despite JudgQ Dctheridge's threat to cancel their award. WHOLE FLEET NOW IDLE. GOULBURN THE LATEST. (Received April 23, 8.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 23. The whole of the Huddart-Parker Com. pany's fleet is now idle. When the Goulburn reached Sydney one of the cooks gave notice, and efforts to replace him have so far failed.
