AMERICAN PRESIDENCY.

CHOIOE OF THE DEMOCRATS. lOWA SOLID FOR MR. SMITH. NO SETBACK FROM HIS RIVALS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received April 9, 7.8 p.m.) A. and N.Z. WASHINGTON. April 8. The practically complete victory of the Governor of New York, Mr. A. Smith, in the Democrat county conventions in lowa, assures him of the vote of the entire State delegation at the national convention. It was regarded as a promising omen by Mr. Smith and his supporters when nearly all Mr. William G. McAdoo's men went over to the Governor. California will be Mr. Smith's next battle ground. So far he has met with no set-back from the men who are attempting to oppose him.
