The Athletic Challenge Shield, points awarded for championship events only (first place 2 points, second 1 point), was won by Victoria with 13Js points; Canterbury with 11£ points was second; Otago with 11 points, third; and Auckland with 5 points, fourth. In the basketball competition in the first round Auckland defeated Victoria College, 26—9, and Otago defeated Canterbury 21 —5. In the final Auckland defeated Otago 25—12. THE ANNUAL DEBATE. AUCKLANDER BEST SPEAKER. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Monday. The best individual speaker at the interuniversitv debate was A. Bailey (Auckland). W. ,P. Rollings (Victoria College) was second. In the teams' debate Victoria College was first, Auckland second, Canterbury third, and Otago fourth.
