INTOXICATED DRIVER.

YOUNG MAN IN MOTOR-CAR. MAGISTRATE ~IMPOSES FINE. Charged with being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car in Great North Road.. John Alexander -Fox, aged 29, who appeared in the Police Court yesterday, pleaded guilty. It was said the case was not a serious one. Accused had stopped on the side of the road and the only thing which attracted the attention of a constable was the fact that the car did not have a light. There had been no mishap of any sort. Leniency was asked for on accused's behalf by Mr. Sullivan, who said Fox was the sole support of his mother. The magistrate, Mr. E. C. Cutten, fined Fox £7 10s, remarking that the- case was not serious.
