ABNORMAL CONDITIONS. - HEAVY FALLS OF SNOW. WEATHER COLD AND WET. By Telegraph— Association—Copyrigh?. A. and N.Z. NEW VORK. April 6. Messages from Omaha, Nebraska, state that the whole of the eastern, portion oi that State is suffering as a result of one of the worst storms, ever experienced there. Telegraph and telephone communications are dislocated and the city of Omaha is virtually isolated except for radio transmission. Heavy snow has fallen and the damage cannot at present be estimated. On the Chicago plains unseasonable snow and cold weather are being experienced. Wet, clinging snow has covered large areas in Minnesota, lowa and Nebraska, and a rainy mist has spread over most of the remainder of the middle west. Despatches from Kansas City state that cold and rain arc hampering relief work in the storm-stricken towns and cities of the south-western States. This is causing keen suffering among the homeless people. The damage to property from the storm is now estimated at more than £BOO,OOO.
