ROAD METALLING WORK.
Sir,—An account appeared in the Herald of March 3, given by the touring manager of the automobile association as to a stretch of road being metalled some six miles south of Glen Murray. This foundation coat of metal is not so impossible as the touring manager would make out,, and ho had a good chance to judge the final results of this work on his continued tour to Tuakau. But it seems he prefers to air his grievances on account of work he pays nothing toward us lie travefs over miles of the ratepayers' roads. K, M. Wright. Raglan County Engineer.
