REMUERA HOUSE TOTALLY DESTROYED BY FIRE FOLLOWING AN EXPLOSION. The ruins of a house in Bassett Road, owned by Mr. Hugh Montgomery, which was totally destroyed by fire following a severe explosion during the week-end. The building was unoccupied at the time of the explosion, the cause of which has not been ascertained.
