ALL BLACK FAREWELLED.

PRESENTATION TO 8. HADLEY. AUCKLANDERS LEAVE TO-NIGHT. S. Hadley, a momber of the Marist Brothers' Eugby Football Club, and one of Auckland's representatives in the All Black team to tour South Africa, was tendered a farewell by his club mates in the Vermont' Street schoolroom yesterday afternoon. Mr. T. Buxton, president of the club, was in the chair, and among those present were Messrs. J. Arneil (president), H. Frost (chairman of the Management Committee), representing the Auckland Eugby Union, Dr. Buxton, and Messrs. J. Sheahan and E. Casey, officers of the club. The chairman congratulated Hadley on his selection and referred to his many good qualities as a footballer and sportsman. Mr. Arneil made reference to the responsibility which rested upon the members of the All Black team. He congratulated Hadley on behalf of the union and footballers generally. Mr. Frost said it was a great honour to the club to be represented by such a fine player as Hadley. Brother Calixtus, and Messrs. M. J. Sheahan and E. Casey also spoke, the first-named remarking that as Hadley was an old boy of the Vermont Street school it' was fitting he should be farewelled there. The chairman then presented Hadley with a suitcase, the recipient expressing the hope that his friends would never regret hia selection. - Musical items were given by Messrs. Hogan, C. Hadley, Murray and a quartet. DEPABTUEE OF PLAYERS. F. W, Lucas, one of Auckland's All Black representatives, left' for Wellington by motor-car yesterday. T. R. Sheen, S, Hadley and R. McWilliams, the other representatives, will leave by the limited to-night. It is expected J. Finlayson (North* Auckland) will also catclj the same train.
