Lawrence's "Seven Villa's of "Wisdom. l ( J2u," with numerous illustrations, came into the English marmot recently, and was knocked down at £4OO, but it was understood from tue auctioneers that 'it vas unsold. the ■edition was limited to about 100 copies, ■of whii'h a cc-itain number, each lacking some or other of the plates, were disposed -of by the, author to friends. The first 4'opv fo appear in the saleroom brought £750 ;it Hodgson's last November, while •another copy in New "S ork rei.chcd only i.TW.
