CONCLUSION OF CONFERENCE. THE ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The annual district conference of the Manchester Unity Order of Oddfellows was continued in the society's new building in Hobson Street yesterday. Discussion ensued on the suggested reimbursement of members who are compelled to secure the services of other than lodge doctors in urgent cases. The matter was referred to the incoming Management Committee. A similar course was adopted with a remit concerning the establishment of a fund to provide medical benefits for visiting members, who had been refused by the lodge officer. Fraternal greetings were received from kindred organisations. The election of officers resulted District grand master, Mr. W. Gubb; deputy, Mr. F. Best, Hamilton; secretary, Mr. J. McLeod; treasurer, Mr, J. Clark; warden, Mr. F, N. Bushill; trustees, Mr. T. Aitken, retiring member, re-elected; auditor, Mr. F. A. Smith; arbitration committee, Messrs.. T. Aitken, R. V. Cooke, S. D. Fade, J. A. Gray, W. McMillan, J. A. Mattson, W. Perry, W. G. Pitcher, F. A. Smith, W. Thomas, J. W. Williams, and A. D. Young; book examiners, Messrs. F. C. Perry, W. Dean, P. A. Syers, F. T. Robinson; representatives to the Auckland Friendly Societies Conference, Messrs. T. Aitken, W. McMillan, J. McLeod, W. J. Edwards; handbook editors, Messrs. J. McLeon and Clark; District Management Committee, Messrs. F. A. Smith, W. McMillan. W, Dean, W. J. Edwards, F. Hard, T. M. Hettet, W. G. Pitcher, R. T. Scott, and J. W. G. Pitcher. F. A. Smith and A. D. Young. The degree of past district grand master was conferred on Mr. F. C. Perry. The installation ceremonies in accordance with ritual were held in the evening. A musical entertainment followed.
