f MISS DAVEY'S POSITION
1 NOT TO- MAKE THE TRIP* (Received March 14, 5.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. SYDNEY. March 14. The secretary of the New South Wales Women's Swimming Association, Mrs. Chambers, says she has received a letter from the father of Miss Edna Davey asking her to notify the Olympic Federation that his daughter will not be available. Mrs. Chambers said it had been suggested that Miss Davey should proceed to Europe with the women swimmers from New Zeal ind, but Mrs. A. Miller, who is to go with the Dominion representatives, had informed her that it was not possible to arrange this, and she would not be able to attach Miss Davey to her team.
When the above cablegram was referred to Mrs. Miller, who acted as chaperone to the New Zealand women swimmers on their Australian tour, she contradicted Mrs. Chambers' statement, saying she was. not even consulted about the matter.
NEW ZEALAND'S TEAM. ACCOMMODATION AND FUNDS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Arrangements for the accommodation of the New Zealand Olympic team at Amsterdam have to be confirmed or cancelled before the end of tho month. At present the Olympic Council cannot state the size of the team, as that depends almost entirely on the funds available. At to-night's meeting of the council it was decided that the state of the funds would have to be made known by March 20, and that all moneys in hand throughout New Zealand would have to be forwarded to Wellington by that date. The appeal for funds, however, will remain open until further notice.
