MEDIUM AND MYSTERY.
PSYCHIC PHENOMENA. DEMONSTRATION IN LONDON. A pistol shot was fired, tambourines were flung over the top of a screen, whistles were blown; in fact, all the usual psychic phenomena cf the medium with tied hands and feet were produced one night lately at Queen's Gate Hall, South Kensington, when Mr. Harry Price, honorary director of the National Library of Psychical Research, gave a demonstration of nearly every form of spiritualistic phenomena. The famous Annie Eva Fay "cottonbandage test" phenomenon was produced. Mr. Price was securely bound hand and foot to a four-legged stool. Seals were placed on the cotton bandages that bound Mr. Price, and then tambourines, a pistol and a whistle were placed on the floor and a screen was put round the demonstrator. When the screen moved a few seconds later Mr. Price was found bound hand and foot with the seals on his bonds unbroken.
The main object of the lecturer was to show that it would be impossible for a charlatan to perform his tricks under rigid scientific conditions. Yet the committee of judges said they could find no flaw in any of the tricks done by Mr. Price.
