OPERATIONS AT WAIHI.

[bt telegbaph.—own cobbestondent.] . , WAIHI, Friday. The following information has been cabled to the Londoo office o£ the Waihi Goldmining Company No. 7 Level.—Driving east on the north branch of -Martha - lode the first 69ft. assays 21s 9d per ton. The lode is about 2ft. wide. Crosscut north is situated 333 ft. east of No. 6 shaft, south-east crosscut. Quartz 3ft. wide was met at 17ft. in, the" assay value being 41s 9d per" £on. . No, 10 Level.—Driving west on the west? lode the next 24fi. ; ss a mixture of quarts and Country of little value. The drive • crosses the boundary at 2131t. Diamond drilling-hols No. 20 was commenced horizontally at No. 11 level close to the east boundary on a true bearing of five degrees and is in" a total length of 246 ft. At 24ft. the Martha lode wat , intersected, width 14ft,, of little or no value. At 170 ft. there is sft. of quartz of little value. REPORTS OF MANAGERS. Hauraki.—-The seaward face of the 400 ft. level has been advanced Bft. for the week. The reef is from 18in„ to 2ft. in width, and is well defined and favourable for gold. The flow of water is increasing as the face advances. Quartz stringers are crossing the lace in the i'ootwall country, from which a considerable flow of water is making. The rise on the junction of the two reefs is up to 30ft. from the floor of the 400 ft. level. The rsef is about 3ft. in width, and somewhat broken owing to ihe influenoo of the junction. The 500 ft. level chamber has been completed, and the shaft i* down about Bft. below the chamber. The country rock is the same favourable nature as that passed through.* The recent heavy rain, caused an increase in the flow of the upper levels, some of which found its way down the shaft, but this has ceased, and the water in tho shaft is again normal. The crosscut toward the Hauraki North section has been advanced 15ft., making the total distance from the new reef 424 ft, The country continues of a. milder nature, and & Jittle water is making on the walls of the clay bauds.
