McKean, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday, fined Anthony John Edwin Christensen, aged 23, £5 on a charge of being intoxicated while riding a motor-cycle. lie also endorsed Christensen's licence. On a similar charge Neville Thomas Ussher, aged 26, who was pillion riding with Christensen, was fined £2,
According to police evidence accused had been seen riding down Eden Terrace, Christensen driving and Ussher tiding behind. Aftei: they had almost cullided with a motor-car, a constable, who had followed them in a motor-car, advised them to go homo and warned them. Accused then went away, but a few minutes later Ussher went back to the cycle, which was standing near (he kerbing, aud got on it. Both accused were then arrested.
Christensen admitted his guilt, but Ussher, who contended he was not under the influence of liquor, pleaded not guilty.
