RIFLE SHOOTING.
CITY AND SUBURBS CLUB. The last shoot in the fourth series was fired by members of the City and Suburbs Rifle Club at 600 and 600 yards. Conditions were extremely difficult, both wind and elevation being troublesome. L. S. Cradock won the A grade spoon very easily, his score under the circumstances being a fine effort, while in B grade S. Griffiths counted out G. G. Kelly for a win. The scores were:— A Grade.—L. S. Patrick, 44, 37—81; H. Collingwood, 40, 39—79; 11. J. Verrall, 38, 40—78; J. A. Spry, 38, 39 — 77: W. H. Thompson, 42, 35—77. B Grade.—S. Griffiths (received 5), 42, 36—83; G. G. Kelly (1), 43, 39—83; L. F. Verrall (1), 45, 32—78; N. I). Porritt (scr), 36, 38-^-74. Patrick won Mr. A. Maughan's trophy with 5 points, those following being Pieterspn (owe 1), 5; Russell, 4; Clark and Cradock, 3; Thompson, 2; Verrall and Spry, 1. L. F. Verrall won Dr. Reid's trophy with '9 points, followed by Kelly, 5, Spry, Griffiths and H. W. Verrall, 3; Patrick, 1. A new series will be opened at 600 and 700 yards next Saturday. AKARANA CLUB. Members of trhe Akarana Defence Rifle Club competed for trophies presented by Messrs. H. Sallery, D. Calder and J. R. Draffin, over the ranges of 500 and 600 yards, at Penrose rifle range. A silver spoon was won by T. Elliott, jun. Trophy points were awarded to T. Elliott, jun. (3), A. H. Dixon (2). W. Colquhoun (1), Stan. Elliott (1), and A. C. Smith (1). Elliott, 39 at 500 yards, 39 at 600 yards, total, 78. C Section (Mr. J. R. Draffin s Trophy).— A. G. Smith. 41 at 500 yards. 42 at 600 yards, total 83. THAMES DEFENCE CLUB.
