IMPORTED PESTS.
Sir,—l notice that' an insect, the cinna. bar moth, is to be liberated with the ' idea of destroying ragwort. I would like to know what the moth is going to live, on when the ragwort is all gone? We ■ have pests hero now that were intro- i duced for our good, but have oroved very noxious themselves. I would suggest <|hat many pests may be introduced by allowing hardwood piles to be landed here with bark attached. Also, if oversea merchants cannot send pure seeds here, that they should not be allowed to send any seeds at all. Be Cakefcl
