MONEY FOR GARDENS.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OAMABU, Monday. The culminating event in a big effort to raise funds for the improvement of the Oamaru Gardens was a fete held on Saturday. The objective was £3OOO. This has been raised in under four weeks, including £1214 on Saturday—a remarkable result for a town the size of Oamaru. There is still more money to come in.
