NEW RULES OF BRIDGE.
OPERATIVE IN MARCH. (Received February 14. 5.5 pjn.) A. and N.Z. LONDON. Feb. 13. The new laws governing auction bridge, which are being printed, will be issued and will'operate on March 1. The Portland Club, which is to card games what the Royal and Ancient Golf Club is to golf, or the M.C.C.' to cricket, recently asked the opinion of leading clubs and other authorities on certain proposed alterations and additions to the rules, especially regarding the method of declaring and the value of tricks and honours. The proposed changes were tried for some months. ,Tfie vnew .rules framed were to have been ready in February, but hiiva not yet been printed*
