STREET ACCIDENTS.

MINIMISING THE DANGER.

PROPOSAL AT DEVONPORT,

In view of a recent accident at Devonport, in which a young girl was killed through being run over by an omnibus which was passing the bus from which she was alighting, the Devonport Borough Council decided last evening to prepare definite stopping places for buses, which would have to stop alongside the kerb. A letter was read from the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, who suggested that a by-law should be introduced which would lessen the possibility of further accidents of the kind.

"If we take this step the chances of accidents will be greatly minimised," said the Mayor, Mr. E. Aldridge. A committee was set np to go into the matter.
