An unsatisfactory position has been created in regard to the men's singles championship arnd handicap singles final The committee, after meeting with delay in the playing of games on both days, found it impossible to complete the finals on Monday, the second day of the tournament, and several leading players, including Garland (Thames), with excellent- chances in the tingles, defaulted to Dr. A. S, Gray (Thames), under the impression that the singles final would be played. This was not done, however, and the position now is that Gray (Thames) and Bush (To Aroha) are left to contest the final after playing only two rounds each. Bush is not generally considered to be equal to a number of Thames Valley players. Other finals to be played are the handicap singles between Garland (Thames) and Reeston (Paeroa), amd the handicap doubles between Steedman and McMillan (Paeroa) and Reeston and Bluck (Paeroa).
