AUTOGRAPHED BAT SOLD. ORPHANAGE GAINS 55 GUINEAS. A. and N.Z.-Sun. LONDON. Jan. 29. A cricket bat, which was autographed by the members of the New Zealand cricket team of 1927, realised 55 guineas avi a function held for the benefit of the Alexandra Orphanage at Hampstead. The highest bidder was Sir Edgar Bowring, formerly High Commissioner for Newfoundland, who will present the bat to the orphanage cricket club.
