DEATH OF CONSTABLE.

POLICE ARREST SUSPECT. MURDER CHARGE EXPECTED. A, and N.X. LONDON, Jan. 27. It is expected that a charge of murder in connection with the death of Police Constable Gutteridge, will bo preferred at the week-end, following .the recent discoveries and inquiries by detectives.

An earlier message said the week-end witnessed cinema-like activities on the part of the London police. This might nave been associated with the brutal murder of Police-Constable Gutteridge on September 27, but "this was not confirmed. An intercepted telephone message resulted in most elaborate plans to surprise some motorists who were returning to a garage in Batter&ea. The plan was successful and one man was |ake» to a police station and detained.
