IMAGINARY SHARK.

ALARM AMONG BATHERS. How easily a scare can be received was illustrated at Opunake-a few days ago, when some of those on the beach raised the alarm that a shark was playing among the breakers. They could see its fin appearing above tho waves on occasions even, and of this fact they quickjy convinced others. Warning was at once given the bathers, who were preparing to vacate the water with all speed, when a seagull was seen to rise from the particular spot in question, its wings having been distorted by vivid imaginations into tho fins of the dreaded shark. Bathing was then resumed.
