SWIMMING CONTESTS.
SURF CHAMPIONSHIPS. ANNETTE KELLERMAN CUP. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, Tuesday. At the surf championships held at St. Clair Beach to-day Lyall Bay won the Nelson Shield -with 163 points, Maranui 157£ points was second, arid Canterbury 144 points third. The four-man surf championship went to Canterbury A with 91 points. Maranui, with 90 1-3 points, was second, and St. Clair, 84 2-3 points, third. The following handicaps have been declared for the Annette Kollerman Cup race:—R. J. Webster (Auckland), scr; J. Enwright (Auckland), lim; C. J. E. McLean (Otago), 24m; T. Champion (Canterbury), 4m; J. Blakeley (Wellington), sim; I-*. Moorhouso (C<interbury), Bim; C. R. Riordan (Canterbury), 12m; L. J. Pithie (Otago), 15m; A. "Hepburn (Wellington), 15£ m; W. G. Morpeth (Wellington), 28m; Miss LCopplestono (Canterbury), 29^m. The national swimming championships were continued this morning, the heats of the 220 yds. breaststroko championship being decided. In the first heat E. C. Heard (Canterbury) beat 11. Clark (Otago) by four yards. Time, 3m 245. In the second heat N. K. Sylow (Auckland) finished ahead of L. Smith (Wanganui) by a touch. Time, 3m 11 2-ss.
