STEAMER LAID UP.
TROUBLE WITH STEWARDS. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY, Dec, 31. The steamer Moreton Bay will be laid up as the stewards' union refuses to .supply men to fill the places of tho dismissed stewards. Passengers and cargo for Queensland are being transhipped. It, is stated that if the dispute is not settled when the vessel is due to sail for Loudon on January 14, tho departure will have to be postponed. The general opinion at the Trades Hull is that the men in rofusing duty at tho regatta luncheon acted rashly and ags.ic.st i the advice of their officials, Tho majority, of them repent their action and would welcome their positions back.
