EXCITEMENT AT HOSPITAL.

ESCAPE OF A PATIENT. CAPTURED ON THE ROOF. Excitement was caused at the Melbourne Hospital shortly after 8 o'clock ope morning recently, when a male patient jumped from his bed in one of the wards and hurried up to the roof of an adjoining ward. As he paced backwards and forwards along the roof he threw off his night attire and shouted, " I want to see a policeman."Being afraid that tho man might injure himself, the nurses in the ward sent a message to a constable. As he crossed the street the naked man apparently saw him, for he shouted, " It's all right. I have seen a' constable now." With the aid of a ladder, the constable climbed to the roof of the ward. Y/hen he got there he found that the patient was being held by two hospital attendants. The man became quiet, and was put back to bed in the refractory ward.
