BATHERS IN DANGER.

GIRL PROMPTLY RESCUED. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] PAHIATUA. Thursdaj. A local baker, Mr. E. Petersen, was bathing in the Mangatainoka River with his little daughter when the latter got out of her depth. Mr. Petersen, who is not a strong swimmer, endeavoured to go to her aid, and he would quickly have been in difficulties himself but for the presence of mind of Mr. J. H. Lister. •Discarding only his hat, Mr. Lister rushed into the water, swam to the girl and brought her ashore. There was a strong undertow at the spot where the girl got into difficulties.
