FATAL MISHAP IN FRANCE. MAN'S MIRACULOUS ESCAPE. A. and N.Z.-Sun. PARIS. Dec. 27. An express at a level crossing near Chinon crashed into a motor-car in which were a Frenchman, his son, the hitter's wife and daughter and a friend. The three last-named were crushed to death and the father was seriously injured. The son had a miraculous escape. He was thrown forward on to fhe track and landed in the middle of the rails. He had the presence of mind to lie fiat while the train passed over him, and he escaped with only a few scratches.
