THEOSOPHIST CONVENTION.
GATHERING AT AUCKLAND.
The 32nd annual convention of Hie New Zealand Theosophical Society is at present being held pt Mount St. John, Epsom, about 100 theosophists being in camp. r lhe business sessions were, opened on Tuesday, the Rev. J. R. Thomson, chairman of the convention, presiding. It was reported there were 33 children at present attending the Vasanta school, at Epsorn, which is conducted on Montesorri and Dalton lines. The inspector's report stated the efficiency was good and tho discipline and tone was of a high standard. The following officers were elected:— General secretary and lecturer, Rev. W. Crawford; assistant-secretary, Miss L. M. Stone. The sessions were resumed yesterday morning, when a proposal to build a block of flats on the Vasanta property was considered. A motion was passed appointing n sub-committee with power to carry out the scheme if deemed practicable. The proposed building will be of two storeys, the estimated cost being from £3500 to £4OOO. Its purpose is to provide additional income for the Educational Trust Board and to serve as an experiment in community living. It was announced that a garden fete open to the public would be held in the .Vasanta grounds on Saturday. Kindred movements represented at the conference are:—The World Federation of Young Theosophists, tho Theosophical World University Association, the New Zealand and India League, the St. Francis Boy Scout Troop and St. Francis Girl Guide Corps, the Round Table Movetneufc, the Order of the Star, the Liberal Catholic Church and Co-Masonry.
