FINANCIAL CHAOS FEARED. EMINENT ECONOMIST'S VIEW. A. and N.Z.-Sun. LONDON, Dec. 21. In a speech at Manchester, the eminent economist, Sir George Paish, a former editor of the Statist, and the Governor of the London School of Economics, said "Only by breaking down tariff barriers can the world avoid a financial breakdown. Wo wero in sight of world free trade, but Britain already is en route to full protection of all industries. The Government is only waiting its opportunity to introduce more safeguarding duties.
