OPOTIKI COUNTY.
FURTHER MAIN HIGHWAYS. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] OPOTIKI, Thursday. At the monthly meeting of the Opotiki County Council, a letter was received from Mr. F. S. Dyson, the Public Works Department's engineer, asking what further roads the council wished to have declared main highways. It was decided to lecommend the Waioeka Road from the borough boundary to Waioeka Pa, and also the Coast Road and the Wainui-Matakeripu Road. The question of disposing of the old Waioeka Bridge was discussed. It, was decided to call tenders for its demolition. A lengthy discussion took place on the Bpeed limit of motor-cars It was decided to support the No. 3 district councij in an endeavour to have uniform speed regulations iixed.
