MOTOR-CYCLE FATALITY.

FUNERAL OF MR. SHEPHERD. The funeral of Mr. Henry George Stephen Shepherd, who was accidentally killed at Otahulm in a motor-cycle col" lision on Sunday, took place yesterday at the Howick Presbyterian Church Cemetery, tha service being conducted by the Rev. Thomas Scott. The pallbearers were Mr. George Shepherd, Mr. Ernest Shepherd, Mr. Victor Shepherd, brothers of deceased, and Mr, T. J. Hooker, a cousin. Mr. Shepherd's family has asso citaed with farming interests iu\ the Whangaroa district. Mr. Shepherd's father Mr. Henry George Shepherd, died a few months ago at the agfi of 83. Bis grandfather, Mr. Janaes Shepherd, who died at the age of 86, was the first Church of England missionary at Whaagaroa, striving there about 1820. Mr. H' G S. Shepherd, with his wife and family, settled in Howick about eight years ago, and for several years was in the employment of Mr. Robert Burns on his Mellon 1 !]: Bay property. Mrs. Shepherd died four years ago. Much sympathy is. expressed for the young family of three sons and one daughter. The funeral was largely attended by residents of the district, members of the Howick Town Board, and the clergy.
