The Riecarton trainers who contemplati taking horses to Auckland ore gradual]; taking advantage of the opportunity to wort their horses the reverse way. By next wee! all the horses who are going North will bt reverse workers. G. Murray Aynsley is leaving (he control of his team at present to his head man, H. Davis, who will be in charge of Footfall and Paperchase until they return from their holiday trip. [l is generally understood that they will go to Auckland, although they arc engaged also at the Dunedin meeting. Hoylake looks in the best of order and he may soon be a winner. C. Emerson will pilot him in his engagements at the South Canterbury meeting. Although Martarma is an acceptor foi two events on the first day of the South Canterbury meeting, it is probable that he will start m the Maiden Plate, lie will Lc ridden by C. Emerson. Childsplay was responsible for a, brilliant half-mile this morning—a fraction better than -IDs on a track that was on the dead side. She only has to keep right to keep her opponents very busy in the Foal Stakes. Count C'avour, Footfall and Rapier, three candidates for the Auckland Cup, are beginning to stride along again in useful tasks. They should be in good fettle for the northern trip. Agrion. Eulalie and the other members of i'ercy Mason's team had an easy time this morning. They were on the course but were given only light exercise in the middle. Front Rank went well in a spin over seven furlongs this morning. She should race well on Friday in the Teschemaker Handicap at the South Canterbury meeting, a raco in which sho was successful last year. Sir Roy was slightly better than Assurance at tho end of seven furlongs this morning. Both these horses will have their admirers in the Teschemaker Handicap. RACES AT TIMARU. ACCEPTANCES FOR FRIDAY. WAXGANri NOTES. THE FEILDING MEETING. [BV TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WANG AN UI, Tuesday. The field in the hurdle raco at Feilding on Wednesday will not be very strong and it will not be surprising to see Star Area making a bold bid. He jumps rather high, but he has pace and will be running on when others are stopping. If looks go for anything. Lysacder will strip very fit for the Feilding Stakes. If he is handy when the straight is reached, he is sure to play a'big part in the final stage of the contest. With the race at Feilding the son of Absurd—Pennon should be at tho peak of his form at Ellerslie and he can be depended upon to give a taste of his quality then. Covent Garden is to represent Mr. G. M. Currie in the Flying Handicap at. Feilding on Wednesday. It. is doubtful whether the eon of Absurd—Cherry Mart was ever so well as at present, and it is safe to say ho will tnko a powr-r of beating. Calculation, the half-brother (by California) to Civility, will not bo taken to Feilding until the second day. when he will run in the Maiden Plate. His track work so far has not been of an impressive nature and it will probably be later on before he will show to much advantage. Royal Elm was taken to Ashhurst, but did no good. He is engaged at Feilding. where he usually runs well. Archon was very unlucky at Levin, where ho ran a couple of thirds. Ho began badly in both events. otherwis ho must have scored at least one win. The chances arc he will do better at Feilding. Elysianor continues to jump well in his schooling essays and he looks more solid ! than ever. He is to be a runner on the second day at Feilding and will not want for Mends. Silver Rule was looking so well on her return from the South that the idea of giving her a spell was abandoned. If she keeps free from the bleeding trouble, this filly should run well at Feilding. where she i 3 engaged in the Feilding Stakes with 7.1. Silvermine, in tho same ownership, is also a likely runner in the Feilding Stakes and is expected to make a good showing on his track form. Paitonu appears much improved by his raco at Levin and tho way he won there suggests that he will scoro again very shortly. Be will be much fancied for the Feilding Cup. The Fordell stable will be represented at Feilding by Limited and Ruanui. The former will be a starter in the Feilding Stakes and he is sure to be one of the prime fancies, as he is such a great beginner. It will depend upon how Covent Garden shapes at Feilding as to whether he will go North at Christmas time or raco at Awapuni. Mask ia going along the right way in liia Auckland Cup preparation and the son of Limond —Cowl should be in tho pink of condition when the dav arrves. Civility may not bo taken to Auckland, in which case sho will raco at Awapuni during tho holidays. Though her form so far this season has not been up to expectations, there is every reasor to anticipate that she will win some good races before tho season is over. W. H. Dwyer has decided to give Paleta a spell. Tho eon of Leighton's running at lliccarton showed that he had lost his form and needed time to freshen up again. Limosa is hitting out very well and this filly promises to be very hard to beat in the Trial Plate at Feilding. She shaped exceedingly well tho other day in r, spin with Kiosk. Thaw has been given an easy time since racing at Ellerslie. as he lightened up considerably. but he is now looking well and should bo at his best for tho Groat Northern Derby. Mandano has been put into work again after a brief let-up. It, is uncertain whether she will raco at Auckland or Awapuni at. Christmas. Star Area is engaged in the hurdles oil tho first day at Woodville and in the big flat raco on tho second day. \V. Dwyer also has Limoaa engaged at the meeting.
