A SERIES OF THEFTS.
YOUTHS BEFORE COURT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDED.] CHRISTCHURCH, Tnesday. An astonishing series of thefts was conducted recently by a gang of four boys, whose ages ranged from 19 to 17 years. Tho stolen property included bicycles and watches. They had stripped and altered (he bicycles. It was stated that one boy had left school only recently, but had been in about 20 situations already. After their appearance before Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., to-day, one of the youths goes to the Borstal Institute for a period not exceeding three years, another for 18 months' reformative detention, a third is on probation, and the fourth has to wait until Thursday for sentence.
